Paul McCartney The McCartney Years
Former Beatle, Wings founder, and now solo superstar for almost forty years, Paul McCartney is one of the best-known and most celebrated figures in contemporary music and pop culture. This new 3-DVD set celebrates his extraordinary post-Beatles body of work with over 40 music videos of his classic songs, reaching back to 1970's, "Maybe I'm Amazed," and running through 2005's, "Fine Line." Over two hours of live concert performances, with Wings and solo, and other assorted rarities are all included. Bonus features include a Band on the Run promo film and a 2005 documentary on the making of Chaos and Creation in the Backyard.
The DVD also features hits and favorites including "Heart of the Country," "Mamunia," "Ebony & Ivory," and "Say Say Say," plus rarities including the Wings promo spot for Band on the Run, the 2005 documentary, Creating Chaos at Abbey Road, and archival interviews. Disc three showcases three classic live performances: Rockshow, filmed on Wings' 1976 World Tour, new edits of Paul's seminal Unplugged of 1991 and his triumphant, now legendary, headline performance at Glastonbury in 2004. The McCartney Years DVD set has extra features that include "Let It Be" from 1985's Live Aid concert and a performance from Super Bowl XXIV. The retrospective also boasts commentary from the venerable Sir Paul himself.
The elements on the McCartney Years DVD are all meticulously restored, and all films have been polished, re-graded and given a new lease on life in a widescreen format with remastered audio. Original recordings also remixed into 5.1 surround sound for the first time. Total running time is over 4 hours.
