Bookmark and Share As a 21-year old pitcher for the Oakland A's, Vida Blue burst on to the scene in 1971, winning the American League's MVP and Cy Young awards. Flash forward to 2001, as Phish keyboardist Page McConnell forms VIDA BLUE, a dynamic trio with bassist Oteil Burbridge and drummer Russell Batiste. At the same time, Page launches Team Vida Blue, specializing in stock-car racing and demolition derby. In 2003, Page is introduced to The Spam Allstars, Miami's hottest Afro-Cuban DJ sextet, and they joined forces in the studio and on the road.

This DVD - a sold out show at San Francisco's legendary Fillmore - captures all of these worlds at once: the combined ten-piece ensemble onstage plus an appearance from pitcher Vida Blue as he shows up to meet the band for the first time. Tying it all together is Team Vida Blue footage - the thrills and spills of smash-up derby action and the 2004 Enduro Race from Vermont's Thunder Road racetrack.
